Itinerary

Day 01: Arrival at Amman Airport

* Activity: Arrival at Amman Airport + Transfer to hotel, Overnight.

* Start Time: Flexible, based on your flight arrival. 

* Distance from Airport: ~ 35 km (22 miles)

* Total Driving Duration: Approximately 45 minutes to 1 hour from the airport to central Amman hotels.

Upon your arrival at Amman Airport, you will disembark and proceed through Passport Control, collect your luggage, and clear customs.

Your driver will be waiting in the arrivals hall with a sign. He will then escort you to your private vehicle and transfer you to your hotel in Amman.

Day 02: Amman Tour - Madaba - Mt. Nebo – Petra, o/n.

Activity: Historical & cultural tour of Amman, Madaba, and Mt. Nebo, followed by transfer to Petra.

Total Driving Distance: ~ 275 km (170 miles)
Total Duration: ~ 9-10 hours (including sightseeing).

 Morning - Amman Tour: After breakfast and checkout, meet your driver. Begin your exploration of Amman, visiting its most iconic historical sites:

-The Citadel: Explore the ancient hilltop ruins offering panoramic views of the city. See the Roman Temple of Hercules and the Umayyad Palace.

-The Roman Theatre: Visit the impressively preserved 2nd-century amphitheater carved into the hillside in downtown Amman.

Late Morning - Journey to Madaba: Depart Amman and drive southwest on the historic King's Highway (approx. 35 km, 1 hour) to Madaba.

Madaba Visit: Your key stop is at St. George's Church to see the renowned 6th-century Madaba Map, the oldest surviving geographic mosaic of the Holy Land.

Midday - Ascend to Mt. Nebo: Continue a short drive (approx. 10 km, 15 mins) to Mount Nebo, the memorial site of the Prophet Moses.

Mt. Nebo Visit: Take in the iconic panoramic view across the Jordan Valley and the Dead Sea towards Jerusalem. Visit the memorial church to view exquisite Byzantine mosaic floors.

Afternoon - Scenic Transfer to Petra: Begin the journey south to Petra (approx. 235 km, 3-3.5 hours). The route offers stunning and changing landscapes as you approach the mountains surrounding the ancient city.

Evening - Arrival in Petra: Arrive at your Petra hotel in the late afternoon or early evening. Check-in, overnight in preparation for your visit to the Rose-Red City the following day.

Day 03: Full Day Exploration of Petra – Return Journey to Amman

* Activity: Exploring the magnificent of Petra + Transfer to Amman, Overnight.

* Start Time: 8:00 AM (recommended)

* Distance & Duration:

    1.  Walking in Petra: ~8-10 km (5-6 miles) round trip to the main sites (more if you explore further).

        - Total Time at Site:  ~6-8 hours (highly recommended).

    2.  Drive to Amman:  Approximately 235 km (146 miles).

        - Total Driving Duration: ~3 hours (including a short stop).

Today is dedicated to exploring the magnificent UNESCO World Heritage site of Petra.

Breakfast & Start Early! Have a hearty breakfast. Starting early is the #1 tip to avoid the largest crowds and the midday heat.

After breakfast, you will be transferred the short distance from your hotel to the main visitor center to begin your adventure. You can also hire an official local guide here (highly recommended for historical context); if you do, be sure to confirm the route and duration of the tour in advance.

The full Petra experience involves a considerable amount of walking. The journey begins with a walk through the narrow, towering canyon known as The Siq, which is about 1.2 kilometers long and takes roughly 20-30 minutes. At the end of The Siq, you will be rewarded with the breathtaking view of the Treasury (Al-Khazneh).

From there, the ancient city opens up, and you can continue to explore the Street of Facades, the Royal Tombs, the Roman Theater, the Colonnaded Street, and the great temples. For the more adventurous, the climb up to the Monastery (Al-Deir) is a challenging but unforgettable part of the visit, involving an 800-step ascent that takes about 45-60 minutes.
A full, in-depth exploration of Petra can easily take 6 to 8 hours.

In the late afternoon, you will meet your driver for the return journey to Amman. This 235-kilometer transfer will take approximately 3 hours. You will check into your Amman hotel for the night, with the evening free to rest and reflect on the day's incredible discoveries. You can also head out to explore Amman and have dinner downtown. For a great experience, ask your hotel to recommend a restaurant in Jabal Al Weibdeh or on Rainbow Street.

Day 04: Departure from Amman

* Activity: Final souvenirs and departure.
* Start Time: Flexible, based on your flight departure.
* Distance to Airport: ~ 35 km (22 miles)
* Duration: Driving Duration: ~ 45 minutes - 1 hour (can be longer during peak traffic).

Breakfast at your hotel in Amman; hotel Check-Out.
Enjoy some free time at your leisure in Amman for last-minute exploration or shopping, depending on your flight schedule.
Your private driver will transfer you from your hotel to Amman Airport for your departure flight. This final transfer from central Amman to the airport is a comfortable drive of about 35 kilometers, typically taking 45 minutes to an hour. “It is recommended to depart your Amman hotel at least 3.5 hours before your international flight's departure time” to account for traffic and check-in procedures.

Arrive at the airport “end of our services” and proceed through security and passport control.
